Howdy, Ma'am, Sir.
I sure had a great day today. After having one heck of a peaceful night sleepin' in my crate and a restful day while the Foster Family was out at work and school, Foster Dad took me out for a bit of trainin'. Lookit what a beautiful day it was!
First off, we did a little leash walkin'. I ain't normally one to polish my own silver, but I'm gettin' powerful good at it. After that, we started to work on stuff what was a bit harder. Jumpin' up in the car all by my lonesome. First, we worked on the approach:
First time, I might have had just a moment's hesitation...
...but, eventually, I done figured out how to git my paws up on the bumper.
Foster Dad helped me on up in the car.
Now, I got to admit that I didn't manage to git up there by myself and I didn't jump down on my own either, but this here was the first day I ever did try! I'm gonna git good at this, cuz Foster Brother Pepper tells me it's a great way to show my Forever Family on how much I really want to go home with 'em. Whiskey just kinda snickers at me, but I don't pay her no mind.
Anyhow, I best git on back to my spot on the doggy bed. It's almost time for everyone to trade around spots and such.
Y'all have a great night. Especially you, Forever Family. Maybe I'll git to meet y'all on Saturday?

Peeking Duck
Howdy, Y'all.
That's me up there. Day 2 of Foster Family Life was all kinds of excitement. I was crated up most of the day, but that don't make no never mind to me. When the first of the youngins got home, she let me out and we had a quick potty break. Then the other two got home. We didn't do much, 'cept maybe hang out and such. Them other two pups I'm bunkin' with seemed to have a routine goin', so's I just went on along with 'em.
I ate me a fine dinner, went out once or twice more and, well, y'all can see for yerselves how the evenin' went.
Finally, I found me a real comfy spot. Pepper (that other pup what I'm livin' with) tells me that he thinks my forever home will have a comfy spot just for me. That there is a real fine dream to have, don't ya think so?
Forever yours?
Duck
A little about Duck and my dynasty...
Hey Y'all,
Around the track they called me Silent Shot but most all of my friends just call me Duck. I'm a retired racer from the South. You can tell I'm a racer, cause o' my stripes, see. I just came up north 'cause I heard there was real fine forever homes up this way. As a Southern Gentleman, I would normally refrain from offendin' the sensibilities o' folks I just done met but them other pups tell me I should go on and toot my own horn a little bit so's y'all could get to knowin' me better. Shucks, I aim to please, I reckon.
I am one happy Greyhound. I'm always real excited to meet people. I just got to my foster home yesterday and they was all smiles at how I just wagged my tail and ran on over to meet all of 'em. They got 3 youngins. One of 'em is a 6 year old boy. That boy is pretty energetic and all, but it didn't make no nevermind to me.
The other two are Young Ladies of 12 and 16 years. Foster Dad says I'd be good with kids of just about any age. I didn't wanna tell him, but I figured that was pretty obvious.
I don't mind sleeping in my crate but I'm just as happy to lay down on a soft dog bed for a nap. Heck, I slept all night in a crate downstairs away from everyone and I didn't make a peep until I saw someone comin' down to let me out. Man, I was all kinds of happy to say Good Mornin'!
I walk pretty well on a leash. I could use a bit more trainin' up on it, but I don't reckon anyone would notice on account of how good I do already. Foster Dad and I are gonna keep workin' on it. I suppose he just wants to make sure I'll live up to his standards.
I ain't had much call to play with toys yet, seein' as how I got in late yesterday, but that boy had a big ol' yeller ball that I was interested in. Maybe we'll get to play tonight!
I also had occasion to lounge around the house and watch my first Raven's football game. If retirement means layin' on a soft bed and watchin' the TV on Sunday afternoons then I can't say I miss my racin' days.
I reckon I've rambled on enough for today. I don't want people thinkin' I'm some sort of showoff. Just think on me a spell when y'all are considerin' on giving a Forever Home to one of us racers. I really do just wanna be loved and love in return. After seein' what Forever Homes are like, I can honestly say that racin' just ain't what it's quacked up to be.
